古市金峨 Furuichi Kinga (1805-1880)
Painter of the late Edo and Meiji periods. Born in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. Studied the Shijo School paintings under Okamoto Toyohiko in Kyoto. Around 1830, he returned to his hometown Kurashiki and opened a painting school. In his later years, he broadened the scope of his work by adopting Nanga painting.
