The firm, balanced strokes of Nichinichi Kore Konichi give the scroll a composed visual structure, the phrase expressing the Zen understanding that each day—whether easy or difficult—holds its own completeness, a meaning conveyed through the steady, unhurried brushwork of Fukumoto Sekio, chief priest of Shoshun‑ji and a calligrapher of the Daitoku‑ji school; the inscription “Zen Daitoku Sekio so” and the seals “Keizan Rounou” and “Sekio” align quietly along the lower area, reinforcing the work’s formal presence without interrupting the vertical flow of the characters, and the original tomobako accompanies the piece, underscoring its place within the refined tradition of contemporary Zen calligraphy.
