The summer landscape by Tanaka Raishō (1868–1940) depicts a waterfall descending between rocky cliffs framed by fresh green maple leaves, the clear, layered brushwork emphasizing both the cool vertical flow of water and the vivid foliage of the season; signed “Raishō” with the seals “Azana Kokei” and “Go Raishō,” the work reflects the painter’s training under Kawanabe Kyōsai and his grounding in Kano‑school techniques, and the scroll is accompanied by its box.
