Painter of the Kano school (Edo Kano) active in the early Edo period in Japan.
Adopted son of Kano Tanyu, he was the founder of the Surugadai Kano family, the foremost Omote-eshi (Gobozu rank), which is the second highest family rank after the four Oku-eshi families among the Edo shogunate's official painters.
